J.R.R. Tolkien's Influence on
The Music of Losfer Words
A wealth of writings by J.R.R. Tolkien
exist beyond the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings, in the form
of his early notes for the trilogy, the lost tales, the Silmarillion, and
including letters by Tolkien, that further illuminate the grand ambition
Tolkien had for his tale.
In one letter J.R.R. Tolkien writes:
"I would draw some of the tales
in fullness, and leave many only placed in scheme, and sketched. The cycles
should be linked to a majestic whole, and yet leaves scope for other minds
and hands, wielding paint and music and drama."
~ J.R.R. Tolkien, from a letter written to Milton Waldman, ca. 1951 ~
