The opposite of love is not hate, rather, it is indifference. When you see suffering in the world and turn a blind eye to it, focus on self saying, "I’ve got to look out for me first", your soul is damaged. You may not be in a position to help, yet to feel no compassion at all for the suffering of others is vile and evil.
