Thoughts on compassion:
Humans are truly the most useless species on the earth if their only basis for showing compassion, and doing what is good, right and kind to others is fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.
If you have to be threatened with punishment or bribed with rewards in an afterlife to be motivated to do what is good, then you truly are a lost soul.

A year from today, on Winter Solstice 2012 you will know the truth. That the Earth exploded today, on Winter Solstice 2011, and "they" moved everyone and everything to a duplicate earth, with the new instant teleportation devices, and "they" told us not to tell the stupid people, because they most likely would not even notice. Err, uh oh.

Winter Solstice. Today is the shortest, and, therefore, the darkest day of the year. However, there is a world of difference between someone who enjoys darkness and someone who enjoys the night with it's moonlight, starlight and twilit bookends to its story, for the latter still has light.

I think it's good that MTV is branching out into scientific documentaries. Jersey Shore proves NJ Neanderthals are not extinct. I'm quite certain once the scientists at MTV complete their Neanderthal to English dictionary the answer to "What's a snooki?" will be known and snooki will translate as- drunken cave skank.
